Loss of pressure breakdowns?
In sealed systems such as heating circuits and heating systems, tiny invisible leaks, also called Micro Leaks, can result in a slow and constant loss of pressure in the system with no obvious cause. Micro Leaks tend to occur more often in heating circuits and hot water pipes and, as the water is hotter, it evaporates far more quickly leaving little or no trace. The constant loss of pressure will lead to a boiler breakdown. ADI Pro Leak Ltd are experts at finding, diagnosing and repairing these leaks ensuring your heating system won’t fail you when you need it the most.
Every leak is different, with a range of factors which can influence which method of leak detection is required. Using five different technologies our leak detectors can quickly and efficiently pinpoint the exact location of any leak, without the need to cause physical damage to your property in the process. These methods in conjunction with the latest technology enable us to detect 99 percent of all water leaks within a few hours.
These technologies include:
Thermal imaging is one of the proprietary technologies we use to track down a leak. Our thermal imaging devices can highlight any warm or damp patches behind walls or under floors, which then helps us locate the source of the leak. Water will always be a different temperature to the air, which means that it shows up in glorious technicolour on our devices. Our thermal imaging cameras have the capability of being able to scan through virtually any surface which is why it is one of the most successful methods.
Leaking water generates noise which is why in certain situations we use specialist acoustic devices. These enable our technicians to identify leak locations of internal or external leaks up to 2.5 metres below the surface. This means that in situations where a thermal imaging camera may not work, such as deep under a driveway, garden or field, we can trace your leak without the need for excavation.
Sometimes the most difficult leaks to detect are the small but persistent ones. When the volume of water is relatively small, it might not be visible on a thermal imaging camera, or be able to be heard with an acoustic listening device. This is where our damp meters can save the day. These sensitive pieces of technology enable us to detect evidence of pipework leaks or water ingress that might otherwise go unnoticed, or be undetectable. They are so advanced that they can detect moisture up to 2.5 cm behind the surfaces of floors or walls.
Our top of the range damp meters enable us to detect and map out damp and moisture from up to 2.5cm behind the surfaces of your floors and walls, enabling us to detect evidence from pipework leaks or water ingress that would otherwise be invisible and in many cases completely non-detectable.
Tracer Gases are a 100 percent safe mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen. Our engineers force this gas into your pipework, and because the gas molecules are both smaller and lighter than the water molecules, they search for the easiest escape route which is the leak. Think of this gas as fizz your see in lemonade. The gas has a specific smell which our gas sniffer machines are then able to use to pinpoint the source of the leak.
Another method we have available to us are our endoscope cameras. These snake cameras allow us to enter parts of your pipework, which otherwise might be totally inaccessible to us. Some examples of where we would use these cameras include behind bath panels, voids in the floor or ceilings, and behind walls. These allows us to physically see where we suspect the leak might be without the need to damage your furnishings or decoration.
We all know the damage that a water leak can cause to a property, it is vital to trace and repair the leak as soon as possible and ADI Pro Leak Ltd have been successfully doing this for many years for homeowners, landlords, tenants and commercial and industrial businesses.
